Skincare Routines For Different Skin Types

May 30, 2014

With summer coming around the corner and the heat slowly creeping in, all we really want to do is wear as little makeup possible while still looking good. At LookMazing, we always say that before relying on makeup, take care of your skin first. Taking care of your skin gives you the confidence you need to wear less makeup or just go au natural and show the world your beautiful bare face! And since everyone has different skin types, we found 3 different LookMazing gals with 3 different types to share their favorite products!

First, we have a guide for those with Normal skin! Ooh lucky you! You tend to not be too oily or too dry and maintains a good balance between the two. If you have normal skin, you don’t have to worry too much about all the problems that oily/dry skin types may have. You’re probably more for keeping a glowy and healthy complexion. SK-II does a really amazing job with boosting your skin’s radiance, plumping fine lines, and keeping it nice and healthy! Also, exfoliating around 2 times a week is very important to help keep a glow in your skin and getting rid of dead skin cells.

Next up, we have a routine for those with more oily and combination skin types! You tend to have an oilier t-zone and may have a slight issue with blemishes and white heads. Clinique has a great selection of products catered to different skin types. The great thing about it is that they pair the products into systems for you to follow to achieve better and more balanced skin. A weekly “all out” mask is a must if you have more of an oilier complexion. You gotta clear out those pores, girl! Or else it’ll lead to pimples, and who wants that?

Last but not least, we have something for those with more dehydrated and sensitive skin. Your skin tends to not like to be in one place for too long and wavers between oily and dry more often than you like. With your skin on the fritz every so often, especially after traveling, you have to be very careful with what you use and you basically have to have two sets of skincare routines. The problem with always maintaining your skin is that by the time something gets better, the other part of your skin is having issues. Sunday Riley does a great job with this serum in brightening up your skin tone, exfoliating, lightening scars, and boosting radiance. Also, a bi-weekly mask to clear out pores and keep potential blemishes at bay is definitely a must!
