Going for a subtle pop of color on your lips? With lip tints, you can easily achieve that natural, youthful look by recreating “lollipop” or “popsicle” stained lips (without the calories). Typically, fresh-faced and romantic Spring makeup looks often feature a nude or light pink/peach lip. This Spring, you can go for a gradient lip effect by using lip tints to add a pop of color and then easily toning it down around the edges with a BB cushion, foundation or concealer.
Korean lip tints are affordable and feature fun, unique colors along with adorable packaging. It’s also easy to layer several tints together to create new colors too.
We tried out two popular Korean lip tints: Peripera’s Lip Tint & Etude House’s Dear Darling Tint
Peripera Lip Tint in Pink Juice
Packaging: Fun packaging with a cartoon character that gives the lip stain some personality. Great for travel given the small size
Color: Red berry tint
Smell: A fruity, sweet smell
Formula: Watery texture that gets absorbed very quickly and leaves a matte-like finish (recommend applying lip balm prior to applying to avoid dry lips)
Durability: Great staying power and does not easily rub off with food/drink
Etude House Dear Darling Tint in #3 Orange Red
Packaging: Sleek hourglass shape
Color: Orange red tint
Smell: Sweet, candy-like scent
Formula: Jelly texture and feels similar to lip gloss when applied. A silky and moisturizing feel
Durability: Once it dries matte, it has great staying power and does not easily budge while eating or drinking
