Fresh blooms seem to awaken our desire to embrace lighter and brighter color tones, which means it’s time to refresh both your skincare and makeup routine to make sure that you’re not clashing with your spring wardrobe. We’re excited to partner up with two beauty gurus, Liz of MissLizHeart and Serein of DressYourselfHappy, to show us their go-to Spring makeup look.
With Spring’s popular bare-faced look, it’s important to start with a smooth and hydrated base. Make sure your skincare routine is up-to-date as the warmer weather will take a different toll on your skin.
Top 3 Skincare Tips to help you achieve that youthful complexion and natural glow:
Exfoliate – in order for your skincare products to penetrate and work their magic, you need to shed that layer of dead skin cells. Using a scrub cleaner 1-2 times a week will do the trick, but we’re also loving cleansing peel masks that offers both a deep cleanse and helps peel away the dead skin cells. Don’t forget to exfoliate your lips to make them softer and more kissable. Liz and Serein both used the Renewing Honey Bee Lip Scrub from the Charlotte Tilbury Prep, Prime, Colour & Kiss Kit to prep their lips in their makeup tutorials below.
Moisturize – you may want to transition from your heavier, creamier moisturizer to a lighter one and supplement it daily or occasionally with a moisturizing mask. Moisturizing masks are now equipped with a handful of extra benefits that range from brightening to anti-aging. The sun will leave your skin feeling dehydrated, so make sure you’re also drinking lots of water throughout the day to hydrate from the inside.
Protect – to prevent wrinkles and sun spots, make sure you’re applying sunscreen (recommend a minimum of 15 SPF) to both your face and lips. You can look for foundations or lipsticks that include sun protection or make sure to layer it underneath your makeup. The Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks include Lipstick Tree, an antioxidant that naturally protects your lips from UV damage and external pollution.
