Styling the Fringe Fashion Trend

With the revival of 70’s fashion trends, fringe made a huge appearance both on the Spring 2015 and Fall 2015 runways. You know what that means? This trend is here to stay for all of 2015.

From Giambattista Valli to Celine, designers played with fringe fashion in different ways ranging from fringe trimmed dresses and pants (reminiscent of the flapper dresses from the 20’s) to more boho, western looks with suede fringe jackets and accessories.

You may naturally shy away from this trend if you don’t identify with the boho style, but fringe can easily be mixed in with classic and edgy pieces. Fringe is also a great way to add some flair and personality to your everyday looks (great conversation starter pieces). You can’t help but feel the urge to sashay a little when you’re wearing fringe.

I opted for more subtle ways to style the fringe fashion trend, keeping the overall look more chic than boho. Here are 3 of my looks incorporating fringe:

Outfit 1
This casual look features a fringe tank top paired with distressed boyfriend jeans to create an effortless, simple look. The fringe detail really starts to stand out as I walk or turn.
Shoes: The ankle boots add a slight western-chic feel
Accessories: Polished off the look with a simple envelope clutch and layered necklaces that add a small touch of detail to let the fringe piece take center stage

Outfit 2
The denim dress is one of my favorite alternatives to relaxed jeans for weekend errands.
Shoes: Gladiator sandals add a warm touch to the look
Accessories: The fringe detailed bag is the one we also featured in our Music Festival Fashion video and pairs well given its classic crossbody style and neutral color

Outfit 3
This dressy look, pairing a silk cami with silk shorts, is ideal for a night out (dinner & drinks). This is a comfortable alternative to wearing a skirt or dress.
Shoes: The playful fringe sandals adds an element of surprise and fun, especially if you plan on doing some dancing. The thicker wooden heel adds more support, making walking and standing more comfortable
Accessories: A chunky turquoise necklace dresses up the upper body and the simple, small crossbody bag is perfect for carrying the essentials (wallet, phone, keys, and lipstick).

Which outfit is your favorite?
