With summer upon us, sunglasses are a staple now more than ever. Not only do sunglasses help protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun, they can also serve as accessories to any look! Now the problem is that not all sunglasses look flattering on every face shape, so if you find yourself lost in the world of many sunglasses shapes and sizes, read the rest of this post for a guide to find your perfect pair of sunglasses!

Round Face Shape

Go for: If your face is on the rounder side, go for sunglasses that are more angular or oversized! Look for sunglasses that have a more square shape, such as the wayfarer rayban style. Oversized sunglasses will give extra definition to the face to help balance out the roundness of your face.

Avoid: Sunglasses that are also round shaped as they will accentuate the roundness of your face instead of balancing it out.

Sweetheart Shaped Face

Go For: The classic aviators! People with sweetheart shaped faces tend to have more delicate features, meaning that the sunglasses you choose should not be over bearing. The shape of aviator sunglasses are similar to sweetheart face shapes, being wider on the top and tapering down, making them extremely complementary for this face shape! Cat eye sunglasses and round sunglasses are also an option too!

Avoid: Try to stay away from any large sunglasses as they can be overwhelming on the face. Even though you may love the oversized sunglasses look on your favorite celebrity, they might not be the best pick for this face shape!

Oval Shaped Face

Go For: All styles! Oval shaped faces tend to work with most sunglasses styles.

Avoid: Though this face shape can pull off the most styles, like any face shape, remember to cater the size of the sunglasses to your face size and the size of your facial features. If your facial features are more on the delicate side, avoid larger framed sunglasses and if your features are more prominent, do not be afraid to go for the bolder sunglasses.

Square Face Shape

Go For: Rounder shaped sunglasses! If your face shape is more angular and square, balance out the angular features with rounder lenses.

Avoid: Again, with sunglasses the key is to look for balance with this face shape, so avoid any sunglasses that are too angular or boxy if you have a more square shaped face.
