Here at LookMazing, we love to showcase our heels just like any other fashionista, but it’s hard to deny what a major impact sneakers have during the spring season. Sneakers have long been regarded as footwear that was exclusively for men. However, in the last few years we have seen a drastic rise in women leaving behind their wedges and wearing sneakers not just to exercise, but also as their daily go-to-shoes. As a result, all the major footwear giants (e.g. Nike, Adidas, etc.) have begun to create more and more gender-neutral shoes that appeal to everyone. With that being said, here are the top five favorite sneakers that everyone should have in their collection this spring.

5. Adidas Stan Smith

There is nothing I can say about these shoes that hasn’t been said already. In the past two years, they have been flying off the shelves from stores. Of course, there is a very high chance you have never heard about Stan Smith (NOT to be confused with Sam Smith the British singer) before they became “the shoes” to have. I know I definitely didn’t know who he was, but now I can’t stop thanking him – his shoe has quickly become one of my favorite pairs. The shoes have turned into an icon of style and comfort for both men and women. The shape is a blend of a classic Adidas silhouette that has been redesigned for a slimmer fit in comparison to other Adidas sneakers, which seem to run a bit on the bulky side. It’s adorned with smooth full-grain leather with subtle perforated 3-Stripes and a tonal rubber outsole to give this Adidas Originals low top this kind of pure, clean style. The best part is that they are affordable! Yes, you heard that right. You won’t be spending $200+ for a pair like the rest of Adidas’ recent releases, but instead you can buy these for around $80. It’s no wonder these shoes have quickly become Adidas’ number #1 bestseller, with its sleek design, comfort, and affordability, I might just go get another pair.

4. Nike Sock Dart

Preceded in 1984 by the Sock Racer, Nike’s Sock Dart was undeniably one of last years headlining silhouettes. The Nike Sock Dart takes a minimalist approach with a stretchy, lightweight mesh upper that delivers a sock-like fit and best of all there is no need to worry about your shoes untying. An adjustable mid-foot strap provides a skin-tight feel with every step. Sneaker heads everywhere have been flocking to their local footwear retailer to try to buy a pair, but luckily Nike will continue revamping their supply of these sneakers throughout the year and in many different colors. Of course, these shoes are not for everyone because they may look a bit futurist for someone with a more modest taste. But in all honesty, these sneakers are quickly becoming trendy and no doubt will soon become a classic silhouette that will unquestionably be in the sneaker hall of fame.

3. Vans SK8-Hi

Vans are the definition of an iconic shoe. It seems like everyone and their mom has worn or owned a pair of Vans throughout their lifetime. Of course, most sneakers are now following the trends and going for a more sporty silhouette, but Vans has stayed true to their designs specifically with their first high-top: the timeless Sk8-Hi. The shoe originally fabricated for skating has quickly been appropriated by the masses for everyday use. The shoe’s multi-panel construction has stood the test of time, functioning as a canvas for customization to be styled and worn by countless artists, creatives and athletes throughout the years. The SK8-Hi sport a moderately inexpensive price tag; however, this hasn’t deteriorated from the careful craftsmanship that has been given to guarantee comfort and trendiness. And most importantly the classic silhouette complements all types of ensembles; it is easily styled with denim, chinos, and shorts.

2. Nike Air Max 1

In the late 1980s the Nike Air Max 1 was envisioned, and today it has become one of the sneaker culture’s most beloved silhouettes. I mean the shoe is so respected that it even has its own day just to celebrate it. Yes you heard right, mark your calendars because March 26th is Nike’s International Air Max Day! What is even more impressive is the fact that this shoe is the reason why people fanaticize athletic sneakers for everyday use. The Nike Air Max has become a hit with both athletes and collectors, men and women, alike by offering striking color combinations, lightweight performance and a cushioned ride for maximum comfort. The silhouette of the Air Max 1 is the perfect height, which makes it a great option to wear with pants. Nearly any jean sits perfectly on top of the shoe. Overall, you can never go wrong with buying a pair (or a few); the timeless silhouette seems to only get better with age.

1. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350

And the number one sneaker trending right now is the highly coveted Yeezy Boost 350 designed by none other than Kanye West. It is safe to say that 2015 was the year of Kanye – his recent venture into the fashion industry has been explosive. In the last year he has released three Yeezy Season collections of apparel, but most importantly sneakers. Of course, as history has shown any shoe that Kanye creates is an instant best seller, and they sell out in minutes. The low-top Yeezy Boost 350 silhouette has quickly become critics’ favorite in comparison to the other two Adidas x Kanye West collaboration sneakers that have been released up until today. The Yeezy Boost 350, is defined primarily by its Primeknit one-piece upper, tied together with reflective rope-like laces and complemented by advanced BOOST cushioning technology, making for a functional yet comfortable contemporary silhouette throughout. As of right now, it has only been released in four distinct color ways. However, as we all saw during the Yeezy Season 3 fashion show, which took place at New York Fashion Week, there are still many new designs & color ways that will soon grace us with their presence. The sporty silhouette has made it a hit for both him and her. Of course, these are the most desired shoes by sneaker heads, men and women alike as of right now and it doesn’t seem like this will end any time soon. No matter if you want these pair of sneakers for resell purposes, or to wear on the daily—the Yeezy Boost 350 is the paramount shoe to rock this spring season.
