Resumes, cover letters, interviews… the never-ending struggle to find an internship to get one step closer to your dream career. But, let’s be real for a second, what’s the best part about having an internship? Of course, it’s the fashion! Professional fashion is another universe completely. I am definitely one that loves trying out new looks from time to time and the prospect of dressing professionally is an opportunity I would not want to miss. Luckily, for women in the business world, we have a HUGE selection of outfits that we can pick from to showcase daily. However, trust me, it is not all that easy finding what is appropriate for the office you’re working in. On top of that, you want to find an outfit that can go from desk to dinner with ease. So, I set out to help solve this predicament and styled one completely fool-proof “business casual” outfit that is stylish, appropriate, comfortable, and versatile!
I started with the White Lace-Up Crochet Yoke Blouse from Express, because I am a firm believer in a basic white blouse. You really can’t ever go wrong with investing in one, because the styling possibilities are endless. When I first saw this blouse from Express, I absolutely fell in love with the edgy neckline. Lace detailing and the lace-up style are trending like no other. Not to mention, the puffy sleeves are a definite “IN” this season. All together, this blouse really is a must-have in your closet. Who said professional can’t be stylish and sexy?
Keeping with the simple trend, I wore Black Leggings Pants from Uniqlo. These are by far my favorite pair of workplace pants because it’s crazy comfortable and there’s no beating a simple black bottom. Having to spend a long day at the office really does make you appreciate which pieces of clothing you have are comfortable.
Need a little bit more of a formal look? You can easily throw on a clean cut blazer to achieve that. Go to a client meeting, a tech conference, or anything in between, and look as smashing as ever. This particular blazer has sleek sleeves for a more stylish look. (Pro-tip: If you are feeling daring, the beauty of the white blouse is that you can pair it with literally any other colored blazer.)
As for accessories, I’m a statement buff. I love anything and everything that packs a punch in an outfit. Since this is a professional outfit, I decided to keep the accessories on the simple side. I paired it with this absolutely gorgeous statement gold bracelet from a little boutique. I also picked up a black Kate Spade Satchel that can easily be paired with any outfit.
Another necessity you must have in your closest is a pair of nude heels. They can be paired with any style of outfit and be worn for any occasion! The heel is short enough for the office and even the dinner you have planned with your friends post-work. The pointed toe is also a cute plus!
Put it all together and you have a perfect, comfortable, and versatile outfit! Whether you’re at the desk or at dinner, this simple outfit lets your inner the fashionista shine. Next time you’re at a loss for a business casual outfit, remember this blog post!
Tell me what you love most about this outfit in the comments!
