We are more half way through 2016 and we have seen many great shoes from all the sneaker heavyweights. New designs, new colorways, but also new models. The NMD, adidas Originals’ new kid on the block, has quickly gained a very solid footing in the sneaker world. In the last few months since it was graciously introduced, the adidas NMD has become one of the most demanded sneakers among “hype beasts.” Inspired by contemporary functional designs and high-fashion sensibilities, the prime knit upper and the Boost sole provide the epitome of comfort. Having already dropped in a heavy amount of color options, the three stripes will keep its foot on the gas and continue to release additional color ways throughout the summer. As a result, it’s not surprising that this new silhouette, similar to the Yeezy Boost 350 releases, have all created mayhem both at the retailers and online, requiring the need for both raffles and a quick upgrade on adidas.com. However, all that put aside it’s pretty obvious that the adidas Originals NMD silhouette has received a positive reception since their initial release and you can rest assured that this silhouette is not going anywhere any time soon.
With that being said, for our first segment of ‘Treat Your Feet’ we are going to show you a couple different ways to style the adidas NMD all summer long.

Provided that you have been keeping up with pop culture, you have seen the popular trend of celebrities wearing spandex (leggings?) under their shorts, not only to go to the gym but for any occasion imaginable. Justin Bieber among others has been spotting countless times rocking this look with his NMD’s and it gets my approval. The look is modern & sporty and the NMDs provide that added hint of comfort.

Not into the whole street style? Go preppy. Of course there is constant criticism about men wearing sneakers with their suits, or with preppy looks in general (usually I would be one to agree with that statement). However, Jon shows a classic way to rock your NMDs and in all honesty the adidas NMDs finish off the look that will be a sure hit this summer at the Hamptons.

Given that the adidas NMDs are sneakers, it is wise to know that they look their best when paired with urban apparel. Combining them with a light pullover and some distressed denim will have you looking fitted for those brisker summer nights.

The hipster style is the neutral ground for those whom don’t want to look too preppy or too street. A denim jacket, crisp white tee, slim fitted joggers, and some cocaine white adidas NMD is a timeless pairing for summer sixteen.

Paris is the fashion capital of the world, so it is only right that we take some styling inspiration from our friends across the Atlantic. Whether or not you’re a tourist, being comfortable when in France is vital in order to see as much as you can during your stay. As a result, wearing some light base layers is key. Slip on some light chinos and/or khakis, a black hoodie, and finish off the neutral look with a splash of color.

An all black outfit with small hints of contrast is a definite winner. You can never go wrong wearing a black and white outfit no matter what season we are in; it is an instant classic and without a doubt, the black adidas Originals NMD will provide you with a steady foundation to stand on.

Double down on the denim and lace up your feet with the three stripes. While the classic go-to pair of NMDs is the black silhouette, this denim inspired outfit could also pair well with the adidas Originals NMD R1 “white OG.”

Two words: Light & Airy.

Word of the wise, sometimes you have to let the shoes do all the talking. By taking a minimalist approach to your #ootd, you allow the NMDs to be the bearer of all the attention.

Living in San Francisco, where the weather contrary to popular belief is not 80 degrees year round like our friends in the southland, wearing a layered up ensemble is a common thing. Sporting a lightweight bomber jacket and/or coach jacket on a foggy morning with some straight leg denim and the adidas originals NMD city socks is the epitome of outfits as far as city living goes.

Finding a happy medium between two styles can be challenging, especially when you don’t want to deprive both style and comfort. So what do you do? You bust out your best button up that you got hiding in your bottom drawer, put on your favorite pair of denim, and lace up the adidas NMDs. Then, BAM! you’re ready for date night.

Don’t take my word for it, go out and buy a pair and let me know if they are worth all the hype and how you style them. Also, make sure to stay tuned for more editions of Treat Your Feet.
